The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) is an ambitious multi-year effort to map the cosmos. Since its inception in 2000 the project has imaged and mapped around 930,000 galaxies and 120,000 quasars. Now thanks to some rather cool computational visualization we can zoom through an animation of the map in 3D.
